The Girl With a Pearl Earring Meets a Sad End

Theses past weeks I have been working on my final assessments for school. I had to be creative and make a werewolf for art, when everyone else in the class is making paintings.. I am crazy!!!

We had to choose something that showed the things we learned this year in art. We had to tie our piece to a masterwork. I chose Vermeer's the Girl with a Pearl Earring. I think my werewolf is Vermeer and he loves the girl with the pearl earring. But in a fit of werewolf anger he kills her. He knows what he's done and is sad and that's my statue.

The teeth of the werewolf !!

The Eyes are started

We had to fill the werewolf with expanding foam, but the form didn't set in the way which was desired.

Almost finished the eyes.

Filling the eyes with double component epoxy resin.

Waiting for the resin to dry

Creating the arms.

Fixing the hands. We had to make the fingers longer.

Putting the body together.

Making the lower arms.

Filling in the werewolves mouth and ears.

Covering the ear with felt.

Putting the teeth in the werewolf.

Finally, the fur!

And more fur...

The eye holes getting cut into the fur.

The eyes getting inserted.

Cutting the fur off of the mouth.

And more fur.

Brushing the fur, I do love the fur.

Done for now :D

Hes so cute
:)
